BizAlert is a service that enables you to receive an email or SMS text message with information on a wide array of banking services. It provides a time-saving solution to keep up-to-date on new issues with your accounts and services.

How it works

HSBC offers six types of free BizAlerts. Simply apply via Business Internet Banking or fill in the enrolment form to take advantage of one or more of the following types of alerts:

  • Account Overdrawn Notification: Alerts you when your account is overdrawn its available balance
  • Inward Payments Notification: Enables you to monitor all inward payments credited to your account
  • HKD Cheque Return Notification: Notifies you when a HKD cheque has been deposited to your account returned
  • Investment Order Confirmation: Notifies you when your stock or unit trusts purchase/sale order has been executed
  • ForEx Switching Notification: Notifies you when your ForEx Switching instruction has been executed
  • Your Special Offer: Alerts you of our special product or service offers

ForEx Switching Notification

What is ForEx Switching Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when your ForEx Switching instruction has been executed.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
Any customer who has set up a ForEx Switching instruction.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
The system will check for executed instructions on a regular basis between 9am and 6pm without stop.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is driven by unforeseeable events, so forward dating is not possible.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
This BizAlert is available via either SMS or email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
No. You should set up BizAlert for BusinessVantage account that you have a ForEx Switching instruction.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
No.

Your Special Offer

What is Your Special Offer?
Your Special Offer notify you of our special product or service offers through email or SMS. This service is free of charge.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

Can I choose how I want to receive these BizAlerts?
Yes. You can choose to receive Your (Special Offer) BizAlert either via email or SMS or both.

Account Overdrawn Notification

What is Account Overdrawn Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when your accounts overdraws its available balance. Note: If your account has an overdraft facility, you will receive a BizAlert only if the overdraft exceeds its authorised limit.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
Once a day in the morning until the account status changed.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is driven by an unplanned event, so forward dating is not possible.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
SMS, email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
No. You should set up a new BizAlert for each account of which you want to be notified.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
No.

HKD Cheque Return Notification

What is HKD Cheque Return Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when a HKD cheque has been deposited to your account returned.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
Once a day in the afternoon.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert will only be sent when a deposited cheque is returned.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
SMS, email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
No. You should set up a new BizAlert for each account of which you want to be notified.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
No.

Inward Payments Notification

What is Inward Payments Notification?
This BizAlert enables you to monitor all inward payments from credited to your account. It can track all funds received from any international or local banks. This BizAlert includes:

  • Inward Telegraphic Transfer
  • Inward CHATS
  • Third party in-house transfer via:
    1. Business Internet Banking
    2. Personal Internet Banking
    3. ATM
    4. Phonebanking

* Please note that the credit amount shown in BizAlert is the net amount after deduction of charges if any.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
Whenever the above-mentioned inward payments has been credited to your account.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is driven by an unplanned event, so forward dating is not possible.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
SMS, email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
No. You should set up a new BizAlert for each account of which you want to be notified.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
No.

Investment Order Confirmation

What is Investment Order Confirmation?
This BizAlert notifies you of the results of your stock purchase/sale orders and Unit Trusts buy/sell/switch orders. Any of the following scenarios will trigger this BizAlert.

Stock Purchase/Sale Order

  • Fully executed order
  • Partially executed order
  • Fully cancelled order
  • Partially cancelled order
  • Any order that could not be executed

Unit Trusts Buy/Sell/Switch Order

  • Fully executed order
  • Fully cancelled order

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers with an investment account for securities trading are eligible.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
In the case of a stock order, we will send a BizAlert to confirm fully or partially completed trades in real time during trading hours. BizAlert related to cancelled or unsuccessful stock orders will be sent after trading hours.

In what ways can I receive this BizAlert?
This BizAlert is only available via SMS.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my investment accounts?
No. You need to set up separate BizAlert for each investment account.

Will I receive BizAlert for stock orders placed via channels other than Business Internet Banking?
For stock orders, confirmation BizAlerts are available for orders placed via Business Internet Banking.

Do I need to pay a service fee for these BizAlerts?
No.

Best Lending Rate Update

What is Best Lending Rate Update?
This BizAlert notifies you of any latest changes on Best Lending Rate.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
This BizAlert will be sent out soon after changes in Best Lending Rate are announced.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is sent only when changes occur in Best Lending Rate, which is driven by market conditions.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
This BizAlert is available via either SMS or email or both.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
Yes. HK$1 will be charged for each BizAlert sent.

Outward Payments Notification

What is Outward Payments Notification?
This BizAlert enables you to monitor any outward payment debited from your account. It can track all funds transferred to any international or local banks. This BizAlert includes:

  • Outward Telegraphic Transfer via:
    1. Business Internet Banking
    2. Branch terminal
  • Outward CHATS via:
    1. Business Internet Banking
    2. Branch terminal
  • Designated third party in-house payment via:
    1. Business Internet Banking
    2. Branch terminal
    3. Business Phonebanking
    4. Automated Teller Machine
  • Non-designated third party in-house payment via:
    1. Business Internet Banking
    2. Branch terminal
    3. Business Phonebanking
    4. Automated Teller Machine
  • ATM transfer to accounts not encoded on the same account card

Whenever the above-mentioned outward payment has been debited from your account.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
SMS, email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
No. You should set up a new BizAlert for each account of which you want to be notified.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
Yes. HK$1 will be charged for each BizAlert sent.

Time Deposit Maturity Notification

What is Time Deposit Maturity Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when your time deposits mature and no maturity instructions are available.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers with time deposits.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
The email will be sent on the night before maturity date and SMS will be sent in the morning of the maturity date.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
SMS, email or both.

Does this BizAlert cover all of my accounts?
Yes. You only need to select the Time Deposit Maturity BizAlert once and you will be notified when your time deposits mature and no maturity instructions are available.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
Yes. HK$1 will be charged for each BizAlert sent via email or SMS.

IPO Update

What is IPO Update?
This BizAlert notifies you of upcoming newly listed/issued IPOs in certificate of deposits through HSBC IPO Service.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
Whenever there are upcoming IPOs in certificate of deposits through HSBC IPO Service.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is sent when there are upcoming IPOs.

How can I choose to receive this BizAlert?
This BizAlert is available via either SMS or email or both.

Does this BizAlert require service fee?
Yes. HK$1 will be charged for each BizAlert sent.

Above-balance Notification

What is Above-balance Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when your balance exceeds the target level you have set for your account. (Note: You will continue receiving this BizAlert if your balance remains above the target level. To stop receiving the BizAlert every day, please modify the target balance or delete the BizAlert.)

Example: If you would like to receive a BizAlert when the balance of your account is above HK$8,000, please select the account, currency of HKD, target balance at 8,000 and the positive sign ‘+’. BizAlert will send you an email or SMS or both at your choice if the account balance is HK$8,000.01 in credit or above.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
Once a day. Please note that the actual transmission time depends on the type of account that this BizAlert is set up for.

Can I choose to receive this BizAlert in advance?
No. This BizAlert is driven by an unplanned event, so forward dating is not possible.

Below-balance Notification

What is Below-balance Notification?
This BizAlert notifies you when your balance falls below the target level you have set for your account. (Note: You will continue receiving this BizAlert if your balance remains below the target level. To stop receiving the BizAlert every day, please modify the target balance or delete the BizAlert.)

Example: If you would like to receive a BizAlert whenever your account is overdrawn by more than HK$2,000, please select the account, currency of HKD, target balance at 2,000 and the negative sign ‘-’. BizAlert will send you an email or SMS or both at your choice if the account balance is HK$2,000.01 in debit or below.

Who is eligible for this BizAlert?
All customers.

How often is this BizAlert sent out?
